So einfach klang die Idee, mit der Gottfried Plüss am 4. August 1884 eine Kittfabrik in Oftringen gründete. Innerhalb weniger Jahre erweiterte Plüss-Staufer sein Geschäft mit Glaserkitt auf den Kreidehandel und die Leinölfabrikation.
Heute ist Omya in zwei Geschäftsbereichen aktiv: Die Produktion und den Vertrieb mineralischer Rohstoffe, hautpsächlich aus Calciumcarbonat, Dolomit und Perlite sowie den Chemiehandel mit Produkten namhafter Hersteller aus aller Welt.
Aus der Kittfabrik des Gottfried Plüss ist mittlerweile ein weltweit operierendes Unternehmen enstanden. Dieser Wandel schlug sich auch im Namen nieder. Aus der Plüss-Staufer AG wurde im August 2000 die Omya AG.
Oftringen ist der Sitz der Konzernzentrale und der Standort der weltweiten Forschung.

Lead Financial Governance across the Group and ensure compliance with accounting policies, reporting standards, and governance requirements.
Own and maintain Group accounting policies, procedures, and the Accounting & Reporting Manual.
Act as the subject matter expert for IFRS, Swiss GAAP FER, and complex technical accounting matters.
Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate the implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
Lead the assessment of complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and financing arrangements.
Oversee impairment testing, significant accounting judgments, estimates, and accounting position papers.
Partner with finance teams, auditors, and key stakeholders to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and successful audit execution.
Drive continuous audit and financial governance improvements through data analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) dashboards, user training, and reporting insights.
Requirements
University degree in Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Swiss CPA qualification is required.
Minimum five years of experience in Group Finance, Financial Governance, Audit, or Accounting within a complex corporate environment.
Deep understanding of financial governance principles, internal controls, and valuation methodologies.
Profound practical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Swiss GAAP FER.
Experience with SAP ERP (S/4HANA and/or ECC); experience with OneStream is beneficial.
Proven ability to work effectively across functions, build strong stakeholder relationships, and successfully drive initiatives through implementation.
Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
