JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description Summary Job Description Summary: The Services Material Planner is responsible for the item configuration, inventory management, planning, prioritization, availability communication and allocation of GE Gas Turbine Components with Thermal Services technology for replace-in-kind and upgrade purposes - to support the maintenance of the installed base. GE Gas Power is a parts supplier and services provider for power generation equipment. The refurbishment program’s objective is to buy, repair, and sell used power generation assets, providing OEM warranty guaranteed repaired assets to our customer base. The refurbishment team works cross functionally with the GE OEM repair shops, internal sales, customer site contacts, and materials management teams to execute refurbishment stocking strategy, manage inventory, and improve process efficiency. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: - Act as the main point of contact within Services for the Thermal Services Components for the refurbishment of used to repaired and sellable assets including the parts injection of the identified units under fleeting program - Ensure TS fleeting program requirements for parts injection are met. Collaborate with repair engineers, life cycle engineering, configuration and requisition engineering, product line and other stakeholders on configurations/part number stocking and injection into fleeting program as well as support TX customers. Target configuration that maximizes number of compatible customers, minimize stranded inventory, define and execute alternate use and modification of slow-moving parts. - Achieve repaired finished goods inventory levels aligned with the operating plan communicating gaps in inventory due to lack of buyback/unrepaired parts or delays in supply chain. -Prioritize consuming existing finished goods inventory, matching remaining life to customer requirements and reduce slow moving inventory (SMI). Reduce existing obsolescence and prevent obsolescence roll-in and increase inventory turns. - Ensure that assets are maintained properly in ERP (SAP PowerMax) and TLB systems with accurate inventory and costing. Maintain the pedigree and availability of the unrepaired and repaired assets providing availability summaries and internal costing as needed. - Partner with repair/global supply chain, new parts material managers and others to ensure that existing and forecasted demand, including repair shop fallout, are covered with adequate supply and availability is optimized for delivery to customers. - In SAP PowerMax, transact buyback material receipt, issue/receipt of repairs PO, material movement to/from repair shops, final customer sales order creation, allocate available material to sales orders, and shipment of parts in SAP PowerMax. - Partner with repairs optimization team to provide forecast of repair slots needed, demand/PO issue to shops and supply chain, set customer want dates and communicate outage/GE impacts. - Work closely with repair optimization, product line managers, campaign managers, commercial and sales managers, CS Fleeting and other stakeholders to define the allocation sequence of parts and repair slots without any bias. Re-prioritize constrained material as needed with understanding of financial impacts if remaining life changes. - Handle escalations from internal stakeholders and proactively escalate new delays to the supply chain. - Support the monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle through preparing inputs for and utilizing outputs from Demand Management Reviews (DMR), Supply Management Reviews (SMR), Internal Reconciliation Reviews (IRR), Management Business Reviews (MBR). - Support Lean initiatives. Drive continuous improvement to simplify processes and reduce waste. - Operationally lead the warehouse optimization - Follow environment, health and safety (EHS) requirements. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university - in supply chain management, logistics, business, engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience. - Proven Gas Turbine experience with repair shops or field experience. Relevant experience within the Gas Power industry, gas turbine operations, capital parts and Services environment, preferably with Thermal Services (Legacy Alstom) Product Line Expertise - proven experience in supply chain management inventory management, or operations. (For US only 3 years of experience) - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience - SAP - Strong communication and conflict management skills. Excellent level of spoken and written English language with good judgment on the frequency and details of communication. - Proven analytical skills and Microsoft Excel experience. Desired Characteristics: - APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) Part 1 (2) training and certification. - Previous experience in materials management and SIOP is a plus. - Proven experience in materials management. Advanced knowledge of configuration management, inventory management, forecasting, planning, supply chain management, purchasing, fulfillment. - Strong PLM Enovia experience. Understanding of Bill of Materials. - Strong product configuration knowledge with sound technical judgment. - Business and financial acumen.
