      Your responsibilities

      • Drive research efforts focusing on innovative cooling technologies, complementing experimental work with simulation efforts
      • Design, build and test full scale cooling system prototypes and pilots through hands-on experimental work
      • Develop, validate and use CFD and thermal models as needed
      • Simulate and optimize converter solutions all the way up from sub-components to module/converter and system level
      • Contribute to creative thinking around new charger design
      • Work with suppliers to source sub-system prototypes
      • Define specifications, and execute experimental validation tests of supplier offerings and in-house developments
      • Engage in active communication and cross-functional project work within our organization

      Your background

      • Ph.D. degree in Thermal Management or Heat Transfer, or any directly related discipline, such as Mechanical or Energy Engineering
      • Solid scientific track record and deep understanding of heat transfer fundamentals and implications for the performance of real systems
      • Mastery designing, building and testing thermal systems, incl. cooling units, heat exchangers, fans, heatsinks, heat-pipes or two-phase cooling and other state of the art technologies
      • Expertise with Matlab, Labview, CFD and CAD is required. Familiarity with Solidworks and Ansys package with Fluent are preferred.
      • Experience with cooling of power electronics or batteries, or automotive/EV infrastructure background are a plus
      • Team player: willingness to do hands-on work; can-do mindset; strong drive & speed; detail-oriented
      • Fluent command of English, willingness to learn German
