      JOB DESCRIPTION

      Job Description Summary

      Join our Birr factor team as a Manufacturing Engineering Leader. You will lead all engineering activities for our OneBirr factory and covers all manufacturing/repair technology. You will establish and manage a multi skilled engineering group according to a well-defined strategy and fully supports the entire factory both in terms of daily activities and long term improvements by working close with Management Team, Operation Leaders, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Lean, Sourcing & Logistics on the appropriate level, and closely collaborating with global Engineering function.

      Responsibilities

      • Lead an engineering organization of different teams with overall 40+ people, with approx. 5 direct reports covering all engineering activities
      • Define manufacturing engineering strategy for the entire factory with emphasis on creating added value and business growth
      • Standardize, stabilize, and optimize manufacturing / repair processes
      • Review and approve engineering and production documentation incl. SOPs
      • Lead productivity and pivot to value efforts
      • Lead of NPIs (lead time, technology, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan) incl. associated Capex request
      • Responsibilities to continuously standardize and improve tooling and fixturing, both for quality & cost
      • Utilize Lean/Six Sigma as a method of product and process improvement
      • Improve Lean Production by using Kaizen activities, leading breakthrough initiatives
      • Take part in the operator suggestion evaluation, implementation, working together with the operative engineering team
      • Represent factory in the global engineering teams
      • Active participation on EHS & Quality trainings and events.

      Qualifications / Requirements

      • Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
      • Several years of experience in leading Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or highly cross-functional teams
      • Strong technical knowledge of heavy machinery equipment capital parts and application of advanced manufacturing processes, e.g. thermal spray, laser-based processes, brazing & welding technology
      • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving a strategic change agenda across the organization.
      • Change agent, with strong credibility at all levels of the organization.
      • Strong communication skills, experience of working and leading across/within local cultures.
      • PLM/PDM including CAD&CAM System experience (CATIA, Exapt)
      • Ability to improve processes and drive sustainability
      • Strong project management skills and experience
      • Fluent in German & English
