Within our competence center for traction, we have a leading position in the design and the development of traction converters and associated electronic components for locomotives, high-speed trains, trams, subways and buses. We are looking for a passionate Electrical Engineer with expertise in Power Electronics and preferably Rail Engineering, to strengthen our motivated team at the Competence Center Traction in Turgi. This position is graded as Grade 14.

      Your responsibilities

      • Electrical Design of power converters for traction applications
      • Specify components and define technical requirements with suppliers
      • Performing type and qualification tests on power converters
      • Collaboration with the routine test department and production
      • Technical contact for our customer to challenge requirements and define solutions.
      • Prepare the technical documentation as required in the project
      • Support the service department and repair center in the analysis of field events
      • Collaboration with the technical sales

      Your background

      • Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power electronics or similar or another higher education or technical background (“Techniker HF”) with work experience or similar
      • Experience with power electronic design and topologies and knowledge of traction technology and familiarity with the electrical equipment of rail vehicles desirable
      • Hands on mentality and ability to take over leading roles in problem solution
      • Project management experience advantageous as well as good communication skills in English and German, both oral and written. Other languages are an asset
      • Ability to work effectively in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and ambition to learn fast and to take up new challenges every day
      • Willingness to travel occasionally (5%)
